Fareast is back with a small sportsboat, the 23R, having made a name for itself initially with Optimists and other dinghies, then with a variety of sportsboat-style cruiser-racers including the Fareast 18, 28 and 31. Dieter Loibner went aboard the brand new model at the Dusseldorf Boat Show to make this video. Enjoy!

There are two keel options – fixed or lifting bulb – and the light weight overall (800kg), allied with 70 square metres of downwind sail area should make for some challenging, exhilarating sailing. Designed by high-performance specialists Simonis/Voogd, the Fareast 23R is a competitor for the popular Melges 24 and J/70 models.
