If you're after generous indoor space, a saloon with plenty of headroom allied to an ingenious cockpit galley arrangement, then the Brioni 44 from Slovenia is definitely worth a look.

Brioni 45

Alex Smith takes a tour around the Brioni 45.

Boats.com reviewer, Alex Smith, praises Brioni for its bold vision.

The galley stows neatly away into a port-side cabinet in the cockpit and the cockpit table converts into an extended sun lounge.

The saloon offers a full two metres of headroom and having the galley outside means there's no need to find space for it either on the main deck or down below.

Despite the lack of headroom in the rear interior cabin (due to all the headroom in the saloon above), there is little to fault in the design concept, which offers a huge swim platform and a large main forward cabin (with headroom).

With a top speed of over 40 knots, the twin Volvo IPS600s should burn around three litres per nautical mile at a cruising speed of 32 knots.
