Description

Eloise is now situated under the hard in Yarmouth, Maine. This boat is a unique, custom made vessel that has a standard Royal Lowell designed Downeast lobster hull built by Jim Beal that was finished by West Bay Boats to full USCG specifications. Well maintained and meticulously cared for.

Eloise has been used for owners' family and friends picnics, sunset and other cruises around Mystic, Ram lsland and Noank, Connecticut. She has also been out in Long Island Sound performing with the sea worthy character that a lobster boat hull gives.

Eloise would be equally at home and has all the requirements to be cruising on a lake, or along a canal, river, or inland waterway.

Her cabin, open forward deck and forward steering design was partially influenced by the modern water taxis of Venice, and she would perfect as a tour boat too. Comfortable midships cabin with settees (that convert to berths), table and galley area.  Equipped with inverter, enclosed head, Webasto diesel cabin heater. Powered by professionally maintained 115 HP Honda outboard (2002) with 300 hours.

A unique opportunity, a special one of a kind boat, Eloise is ready for her next purpose.

Construction and layout

The Downeast hull was designed by Royal Lowell and was built in hand laid solid fiberglass, using polyester resins; utilizing a mold at Jim Beal Boats, Maine. The hull is strengthened with fiberglass stringers and floors and by composite bulkheads. The cockpit is built of fiberglass with a composite core. The deck has been fastened to the hull by a shoe box joint thats was fiberglassed internally and then further fastened with stainless self tapping screws.  Vinyl rubrails. There is small aft cockpit with outboard motor mounted on transom. The hull is finished in white gelcoat with black and gray as secondary colors

The cabin was constructed at West Bay Boats in Steuben Maine in hand laid fiberglass with a composite core. Finished internally with white gel coat with oak trim, and foam backed head liner. Fixed windows with tinted and clear glass. Fiberglass cockpit sole.

The cabin is fitted with two comfortable 6'4" long settees (that can be converted to berths) and occasional table. Abaft to starboard is a molded galley equipped with a stainless steel sink and under counter refrigerator. Opposite to port is an enclosed manual Jabsco head with holding tank. Ambient ventilation via the fore and aft opening doors, the cabin can be heated with a Webasto diesel heater (with dedicated fiberglass fuel tank).

The forward deck is open with 7ft long benches running port and starboard, appointed with comfortable cushions. The helm is open at the bow.
