Description

We have known “Callisto” through two owners since the mid nineties.  Both particular families with fastidious natures demanding the same:  a safe, dependable and comfortable vessel capable of extended cruising with remote waters in mind.  A yacht well cared for - boathouse kept all those years - with gleaming gelcoat, brightwork befitting yacht club outstations.  Add to that the regular upgrades of equipment and detailed attention to service, and “Callisto” is worthy of your attention.  We adore the John Deere engines for their renowned dependability, perfect power curve, smooth operation, and immediate bite when dropped into gear.  And for the new teak decks installed in 2007.  An exceptional yacht ideally suited to our waters - North to Alaska!!  And this writer would travel that route today - without hesitation - in “Callisto!”

Throughout Callisto

Callisto’s is the traditional Tri-Cabin layout, with aft master cabin, forward guest accommodations, and spacious salon and galley in between. This design ticks all the boxes for liveability and cruising comfort.

The master cabin has a private companionway leading from the aft deck,  and opening windows that provide ventilation and plenty of natural light.  Twin berths, with drawers underneath are on port and starboard separated by a large teak bureau and chest freezer.  The private ensuite with separate shower and tub enclosure, sink and vanity.  The full size hanging locker is adjacent to the companionway leading up to the salon.

The living space in the salon is very inviting; bright, open and airy, large windows and clear visibility abound.  Starboard side is the expansive L-shaped settee with dinning table and teak bar cabinet.  The portside galley is complete with fridge/freezer, propane stove, stainless sink and abundant storage.  The lower helm station with navigation equipment, engine instrumentation  and chart table is to starboard.

Down a few steps is the forward guest accommodation, a double v-berth with storage below.  There is also a separate ensuite with head, shower, and hand basin.

Exiting the salon from doors on both port and starboard, gives access to the full walk around decks, stairs to the flybridge with the upper helm station, fore and aft seating and large deck, ideal for storage or an entertainment area.
