Description

!! VIEWING HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

A rare 1945 MFV 601 class (642) with loads of history, built for the Admiralty Fleet Tender at the end of the second world war this vessel is in good condition with a very impressive Foden 6 cylinder engine in full working order. Commissioned in Sept.1945 by  D. Williams (Aberystwyth, Wales, U.K.)  Now used as a very comfortable & beautiful home with all mod cons including central heating /radiators, log burner, fully fitted kitchen & newly decorated bathroom with a good level of decoration throughout.

A very well looked after boat recently repainted over lockdown & is ready to move in straight away & not sold as `a project` that needs lots of work doing first. It has also recently been out of the water for maintenance & antifouling.

The upper saloon houses a large `kitchen` area with double glazing & lots of light, a 4 ring gas burner, circular sink area with mixer tap & circular drainer, original laminated worktops, under counter fridge, plenty of electric sockets, radiator, new solid acacia worktops & breakfast bar & lots of storage & space as well as the engine controls & wheel. There are 2 sliding doors on either side of the saloon & a set of french doors aft that open out onto the deck area for extra space to eat & entertain.

Below are 2 well decorated `bedrooms` in very good condition with new carpets, radiators & plenty of storage. One with a large super kingsize bed area with lots of storage underneath as well as clothes rails & cube storage shelves & a large overhead hatch for natural daylight that can be opened in the summer for plenty of fresh air.

The second bedroom has a single bed which has been made with the option of being extended into a double with a custom built fitted computer desk with double plug sockets which could double as an office?  It has a clothes rail & space for a wardrobe, it also has natural light from 4 portholes.

The fully fitted `bathroom` is bright & clean & recently redecorated with a new toilet (plus new holding tank & pumps) circular ceramic sink with modern waterfall solid brass mixer tap, radiator/towel heating rail & a walk-in shower with new ceramic shower tray & new tiling with a good hot, powerful water supply to the shower, there is also plenty of storage space for towels etc.

`Living room ` is spacious but cosy with a log burner, 2 large built in sofas & space for a 65inch tv as well as wooden shelving for books &/or ornaments & a large ornate fitted mirror above the radiator.  It has plenty of  head room with a large skylight above & portholes for natural daylight & fresh air.

The engine room contains the Foden 6 cylinder diesel engine, an Eberspacher diesel water heater (serviced last year & in perfect working order)  a very good Samsung washing machine, 2 fresh water tanks. 2 large diesel tanks, 4 new batteries connected to a trickle charger & lots of space for storing `stuff` like tools, wood, spares, fenders, garden furniture etc.

This boat feels more like a small cottage than a boat  (but with much better views ) & is well worth having  a look around to fully appreciate.

This boat is in good condition especially for its age & makes a perfect `houseboat`, if you wanted to take this boat out onto the high seas again it will need some repairs doing to the hull on the port side but not urgent or even necessary if permanently moored.

The boat is presently moored at Southsea Marina Portsmouth but can be taken anywhere under its own steam.
