Don't be fooled by the pair of cabins displayed in this Windy Camira 39 video – this new member of the Scandinavian set is a stretched high-performance version of Windy's 31 Zonda. Cruisers can have the Windy Maestro 40 and potter off. Alex Smith explains below.

In the sun lounger configuration on show at this year's Dusseldorf Boat Show, the absence of walkways down the side of the boat means the entire beam of the boat comes into play. Open-deck space is definitely not lacking aboard the Windy Camira 39.

With performance and lounging attended to, the designers turned their fanatic attention to the practicalities – dedicated under-deck fender stowage, a well appointed engine room and the stowable canvas canopy.

There are compromises in terms of space and standing headroom down below, plus the galley is also on deck, but the Camira 39 has been described as the best handling boat in the entire Windy range, so the message is clear: this is not a cruiser.

For something in a similar vein on, take a look at our Fjord Open 48: First Look Video or perhaps the upcoming launch of the New Frauscher 747 Mirage Air is more like it...
