Henshaw Inflatables, renowned manufacturer of inflatable filled tubes for RIBs, has secured a second deal with the Italian Coast Guard for three further Codecasadue RIB tubes, together with an option for an additional eight.Coastguard's inflatable boat

Founded in 1974, the UK-based company had originally built 13 sets of the 18-metre long Codecasadue RIB tubes. The RIB tubes are manufactured by building an inner tube into the RIB collar, which has a thick layer of foam around it for added protection and buoyancy. The inner tube and foam is covered in Hypalon coated fabric, which is very tough and resistant UV, oil and petrol.

Chris Hornidge, Managing Director of Henshaw Inflatables, said: “Following on from the 13 sets of Codecasadue RIB tubes which have been delivered over the past three years, we are absolutely delighted to have secured an additional deal for three more, with an option for a further eight. There is no doubt that the Italian Coast Guard boats are built to face some seriously tough conditions, and their latest order is a continuing testament that our tubes are up to the task.”
