Engine and Performance

Josephine boasts a Beta 20 hp three-cylinder diesel engine, installed in 1998. This robust engine has been meticulously serviced and winterised annually, providing a cruising speed of 4.5 knots. The 90L fuel tank is conveniently located beneath the port side cockpit seat to ensure easy access.

Rigging and Sails

  • Mast: Proctor single spreader aluminium mast, inspected and approved in 2018.
  • Sails:
    • Mainsail: Slab reefing mainsail (3 reefs) by Crusader Sails, in good condition.
    • Headsail: Roller furling Genoa, also by Crusader Sails, new in 2021.
    • Cruising Chute & Storm Jib: Both in good condition.

  • Rudder: skeg rudder with an extension, adjustable from the cockpit for ease of use.

On Deck

Josephine features a well-equipped deck for safety and convenience:

  • CQR anchor with significant chain in the forward well.
  • Safety robust design including pulpit, guard rails, and grab handles.
  • Storage is ample, with large lockers under both cockpit seats and a fold-down transom ladder for easy access from the water.
