Description
Pichavant Ketch 17m
Built by the Pichavant shipyard and designed by Georges Auzépy-Brenneur, this superb classic 17-meter ketch in strip-planking perfectly embodies the marriage of timeless elegance, craftsmanship, and performance at sea. A true witness to French naval heritage, it was designed for offshore cruising as well as for major Mediterranean regattas, where it has excelled several times, notably at the Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
Its teak deck, completely redone by the Trapani shipyard two years ago, as well as its very recent standing rigging, testify to rigorous and constant maintenance. The new genoa (2025) and the mizzen sail currently on order (delivery expected in December 2025) complete a performant and harmonious sail plan. Powered by a reliable and powerful 2009 Volvo D3 engine, this sailboat effortlessly reaches 9 to 12 knots from 15 knots of wind, combining grace and efficiency under sail.
The fluid deck plan and the clever double descent to the saloon facilitate movement on board, offering comfort and safety while sailing. The interior, beautifully crafted in varnished wood, exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The aft cabin, occupying the full width of the boat, features a private bathroom and a large central bed. The two forward cabins, each equipped with bunk beds, share a second bathroom, while the spacious, bright saloon offers a table for eight guests and an additional bench.
Designed by one of the greatest French naval architects, Georges Auzépy-Brenneur, known for his elegant and balanced marine lines, this Pichavant Ketch is part of the tradition of great classic sailing vessels. It rivals in presence and authenticity with the creations of Carlini-Sciarrelli, Hoek, Herreshoff, or Jongert, combining soul, style, and comfort.
A true character sailboat, it will appeal to enthusiasts of sailing and naval aesthetics, in search of a yacht that is both lively, elegant, and authentic, ready to write new chapters on all the seas of the world.
