Boat has been consistently and meticulously maintained. Upon each trip boat is rinsed with Salts Gone, washed with Starke SiO2 soap, and dried. Gelcoat is maintained with Jescar Polymer Sealant 2x per year. Boat T top, interior, dash, electronics, and engines are maintained with a combination of Woody Wax, Nautical One (McKees 37), and Jescar Polymer Sealant. Engines have only ever seen Yamaha service products and are regularly maintained. There is zero corrosion on this boat.
This is the ideal boat for the serious offshore fisherman, family man, and sand bar entertainer. Outfitted with competitive offshore fishing in mind you will not find anything else you need to add to go 100+ miles off. My primary use has been for offshore fishing in the mid-Atlantic. With the average run being 60-80 miles in short period chop this boat has always gotten me to and from the grounds. She will handle her own when things get nautical and on the occasional flat day you can run 40kt+ and still get 1.2MPG in the ocean. In the Bay you will see up to 1.6MPG with a standard load and full tank of gas. I average 1.2 in the ocean with tabs engaged against the swell. If you take a little off the throttle you can get 1.4 on a good day or if it is really sporty and you have to tab all the way down you can always maintain above 1.0MPG.
On our average run we hold 12 trolling set ups, 6 spinning outfits, an LP, and dredge boom. 500 lbs of ice between drinks and fish box. 6 crew fit comfortably and I’ve had 8 people offshore with plenty of room for bean bags. The cockpit provides plenty of space for moving around one another and not feeling cramped. When the rods go off and it’s total chaos there are plenty of rod holders to move rods around and space to put fish on the deck. The high freeboard will make you feel secure in the boat even in rough conditions. This not only helps to use leverage when fighting a big fish but will add safety for younger passengers.
You will notice a lack of in-deck storage on the cape horn due to the hull being completely foam-filled. This makes for a soft ride and no boat shake. The large forward in-deck fish box is 7ft long and can hold your limit of fish and keep it cold all day. You can lose fish in this thing it’s so big.
When it’s time to take the day off fishing you can put the bow cushions on and flip out the transom seat to hold all of your friends and family comfortably. The JL Audio sound system will provide more volume then you’ll ever need. The XS Stands for extra storage. We keep all of our offshore gear, safety equipment, and passenger’s personal items in the head and forward storage and they all stay dry. The extra large anchor locker will hold your anchor, chain, line, and any additional items needed. We don’t use it but there is a vaccuflush toilet in the head with 6’3” of head space.
What I love about this boat:
· Easy to run – whether it’s a 2 or 6 person crew boat is easy to run and fish
· Thrives on top of the swell – with a following or calm sea speeds in excess of 30 kts are common with 1.2+ Economy
· Tabs down in the slop – when things aren’t so nice, and I mean we should’ve stayed home, putting the tabs down will maintain a decent cruise and keep you safe
· Endless storage – you can bring the kitchen sink out
· Every detail thought out – whether it’s offshore fishing or a sand bar day, you won’t find yourself saying “ I wish it had this, wish that was there” etc.
Ask owner about sale conveying with full offshore tackle package if you truly want a turnkey experience: spreader bars, chains, lures, and 15+ Shimano Tiagras on custom rods, bean bags, etc etc
