A remarkable boat, combining sparkling performance with an astonishingly spacious interior, the Gunfleet 43 is rewarding to sail in all weathers, being light on the helm yet positive. Her non-overlapping high aspect headsail provides excellent pointing ability and she is quick and easy to tack. Fast to accelerate, she gets into the groove quickly with hull speeds that defy her size and displacement. Above all, she feels comfortable and secure under sail and will take long passages in her stride without tiring her crew. Perfect for short-handed sailingThe cockpit and deck layout have been perfectly designed for easy, short-handed sailing, with sheets and traveller all within reach of the helmsman. There is excellent visibility from behind the ‘Flightdeck’ helm and the 43 provides a dry, comfortable ride. A unique feature is her flush aft deck, immediately behind the centre cockpit, effectively doubling the leisure space in warmer climes and perfect for relaxing and sunbathing. Twin rudders and keel options Her twin balanced spade rudders give an unbelievable degree of balance and control, even in blustery conditions. The 43 available with either a 2.1m (6’9“) fixed keel with lead bulb, or with a shoal draft, centreboard keel giving a draft of just 1.38m (4’6”) board up to 2.70m (8’10”) that does not compromise the yacht’s interior in any way. Spacious and luxurious accommodationThe 43 features a spacious, light and airy saloon with centreline table, bar area and two settees, which double as seaberths. The galley is practical and a joy to use with abundant stowage in soft-close drawers, integrated GN Espace cooker, a ‘water station’ sink and stainless steel front-opening fridge/freezer. The real wow factor has to be the owner’s cabin, which offers the sort of space you would normally only expect to find on a yacht over 50 feet. Beautifully appointed, it features a superb en-suite, a desk and seating area. Forward is a second en-suite guest cabin making the standard layout perfect for a couple wishing to spend extended time aboard, joined occasionally by friends or family.

Nominated for the European Yacht of the Year, the Gunfleet 58 combines a stunning profile with excellent performance and best in class accommodation and features. Exceptional performanceThis is a powerful sailing yacht that delivers real performance and a rewarding helming experience that will delight the most demanding of yachtsmen. Clean, undistorted hull lines, an upright stem and long waterline, and generous beam carried well aft, all point to an excellent performance profile. Variable draft and twin rudders as standardHer ballasted shoal draft keel, with deep centerboard, gives her serious upwind potential with the convenience of ultra-shoal draft. The benefits from twin rudders have to be experienced to be believed. The Gunfleet 58 carries virtually no weather helm even when pressed to the wind or when close-reaching with spinnaker with maximum heel. Steering remains finger-light with total control at all times. The absence of helm weight means zero fatigue for helmsman or autopilot. Properly protected helm stationsClean and uncluttered, the deck is easy to move around when sailing. The twin ‘Flightdeck’ helm positions feel secure as they are set down on deck, properly protected, so the helmsman steers from ‘in’, not ‘on’ the boat. There is easy access to the cockpit from the aft deck without a hazardous climb over coachroof or coamings. Easy, short-handed sailingThis large yacht can still be sailed short or even single-handed with ease. Powered winches, furlers and traveller are all within reach of the helmsman. The forward cockpit is indeed completely devoid of ropes, enabling guests to relax in comfort around the beautiful custom cockpit table. A huge lazarette and a forward sail lockerThe Gunfleet 58 is the only yacht in its class to offer a huge full-width lazarette in addition to a deep forward sail locker. She is also available with an optional hydraulic stern platform in lieu of the standard open ‘sugar scoop’ stern. Light, spacious and supremely stylish accommodationBelow decks, you are immediately struck by the sense of light and space in the stylish saloon. The whole accommodation feels spacious and uncluttered with huge attention to detail throughout. The accommodation flows beautifully and is flooded with light thanks to overhead skylights and panoramic hull windows in all principal cabins. Every space has the feel of a larger yacht and none more so than the spectacular master cabin aft. There are three additional sleeping cabins, one of which is en-suite and a first-class walk-in engine room. Careful attention to sound insulation ensures below decks on the Gunfleet 58 is a very pleasant place to be – even underway.

The 52, marks a whole new era in the design of cruising catamarans, as indeed did its predecessor, the famed 500. With her diamond-shaped vertical bows, bevelled hulls, her as if levitated deckhouse and tall rig, the 52 is no ordinary catamaran, but her originality goes a great deal further than just its "outer" appearance, or even her interior layout. This Lagoon is the result of lengthy discussions between the architects at Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prévost (VPLP), the Italian Nauta Design agency and the Lagoon design department. These discussions led us to make some important and sometimes radical choices, while remaining faithful to what we believe in, in terms of elegance, comfort, safety, user friendliness and, it goes without saying, performance under sail. 12. Oyster 745

    2018
    Request Price

Two metres longer than the Oyster 675, three shorter than the 825, the sleek-topped 22.7m Oyster 745, announced in 2013 and now fully in build, brings interesting new thinking and great new opportunity, drawing as she does on the particular experience of the 12 very varied 825s and 885s. Through these 12 80-plus-footers there are very different expressions of layout and balance between owner, guest and crew requirements, adding into the mix up to three levels of saloon roof and floor, with apportionment of space essentially based on six cabins, six heads for the 885, five cabins, five heads, for the 825 – a huge versatility within the strengthening Oyster approach of ‘say yes’ to owners requests. Next in line, within the previous single rudder generation, was the 72/725 with five cabins, four heads. Beautiful lines and handling but with two guest cabins aft sharing heads and shower, and the forward guest cabin accessed via the crew and galley area, not everyone’s optimal solution. The key difference between the 725 and the 72 was the incorporation of the vertical, three-stripe Seascape windows into the same hull and floorplan initially at the request of one owner which was then picked up by others. The rebadging as the 725 was driven by the owners who wanted to enjoy the difference between their 725s and the successful 72s – from this partnership, three Oyster 725s have been built. For the new Oyster 745, with a clean design slate, these issues have been swept aside, making way for a very spacious four cabin, four head layout by electing to have not three full cabins aft, just two with a very versatile side-space bridging the sleeping and living areas aft and the amidships, and also resolving private forward access by adopting the bigger 825’s successful walkway either side of the mast. With this, guests have one side forward, crew the other, and the galley/crew door can close the whole of that area. Of these significant introductions, Oyster CEO David Tydeman says, “You get a really nice master cabin with big ensuite, and a very good guest double cabin which can be either double, twin, or Pullmans, or combination of all of these. And rather than use the leftover space as a fourth guest cabin, we designed this area with a number of options. Given this is more of an owner-driver’s boat, this can be a ship’s office for the owner, with a desk, with a chart table, enclosed or open plan, and a comfortable L-shaped snug just off the main saloon and dining area."  Left open plan, it creates a great space for sitting and relaxing, while pouring even more light and space into that aft guest deck, a convivial or quiet lower deck saloon with library or any level of AV equipment including 40in (100cm) deckhead fold- down television. Alternatively it can be laundry and store or a bunked space for extra occasional berthing. The evolution through design generations to the current wide beam aft and high freeboard has contributed to a leap in interior volume for this new, more open accommodation plan. Below the sheerline volume is a full 210m3, astonishingly just 20 less than the Oyster 82 which despite its three metres extra length measured 230m3. In the Oyster 675 update in the Oyster Magazine (Issue 77) we talk of a new Oyster construction method and the 745 was the first in the line built this way with hull shell completely of vinylester resin with continuous rather than conventional multi-directional fibres, and a vacuum infused girder structure within, giving greater rigidity and strength for weight. And as with the 675, taking advantage of the construction processes and using them to enhance the cruising experience, here again a little more power has been designed into the rig and keel, the latter with a little more chord length fore and aft and slightly deeper draft complementing the twin rudder hull and full beam aft. There’s also a centreboard option if shallower draft capability is sought.

Designer Tony Castro has created a spectacular yacht in the new Gunfleet 74. The sleek outboard profile and powerful hull lines will ensure head-turning attention and real pride of ownership. In all, she is a simply stunning cruising yacht with powerful performance, variable draft and class-leading accommodation, and offers more than any other yacht in this size range. Setting a new benchmark in this size rangeThe Gunfleet 74 offers an unbeatable range of features usually only found on much larger yachts, not surprising given the amount of experience behind this project. Like her smaller sisters, the Gunfleet 74 features an anchorage friendly, low centre of gravity, shoal draft, bulb keel with a centreboard and twin rudders. Hence this 74 footer draws just 2.06 metres ‘board up’ but has a sailing draft of 4.11 metres. Designed for performanceThe 74’s performance orientated sail plan is complemented by a choice of cutter gear or a solent jib with hydraulic furling on both headstays for ease of handling. The standard rig is a fully battened mainsail, but in-mast furling or in-boom furling are also available. Separate cockpits for guests and crewOn deck, the 74 is designed for ease of operation by professional crew, as well as providing generous relaxing areas for guests. Sailing operations all take place in the separate aft cockpit, featuring twin ‘Flightdeck’ pedestals – well out of the way of guests. The exceptionally large, forward cockpit provides generous seating and twin cockpit tables, each incorporating refrigerated drinks coolers. This is a boat for serious alfresco relaxation and guests will enjoy the flush aft deck, which is the perfect place for sunbathing, before taking to the water via the hydraulic stern platform. Semi custom – means choice not compromiseOf course, the Gunfleet 74 is a semi-custom build with a wide choice of interior finishes and layouts to cater for any owner’s specific requirements. The standard arrangement provides no less than four en-suite cabins for owner and guests. There is excellent separation from the crew, as the crew cabin is located forward of the galley and features its own crew mess and en-suite heads. The fully equipped professional galley is closed off from the saloon so the chef can work undisturbed. Any professional chef will be happy with the generous counter space, high- specification domestic appliances and easily accessible fridge and freezers. There is a choice of tender options - stern tender garage, stern davits or a tender chocked on the foredeck. Class-leading stowage for gear and ‘toys’ is provided by the huge full-width lazarette and the generous forward sail locker. A luxurious interior with stunning outboard viewsThe full-beam owner’s cabin is a masterpiece with queen-size centerline berth, office area and settee, whilst the saloon features a dining area comfortably seating 8 to 10 guests with an abundance of natural light. All cabins feature spectacular outboard views.
