The Gulfstar 54 was designed and built by Richard Lazzara, founder and designer of Gulfstar Yachts. Gulfstar commenced building yachts in 1970. Lazzara and Gulfstar designed and built quality power and sail boats from 36 to 68 feet in length. The 54 is known as the Gulfstar sailcruiser. Gulfstar built 23 Sailcruisers between 1985 and 1987. This particular Gulfstar was built in 1987, and benefits from Gulfstar's many years of design and construction expertise across both power and sail boats. Lazzara Yachts is still in business in Florida, now producing impeccable mega-yachts.
