The Oyster 825 Reina built in 2013, launched and commissioned in 2014. Reina had an immediate impact on the water with her stunning Humphreys’ lines combined with a powerful easy-to-handle hull form. Twin rudders and hydraulic sail handling makes sailing her a dream, even when shorthanded. When you want to turn on the performance she is quick - her sistership winning her class at the 2015 Superyacht Cup Palma.

Oyster 825 Reina - Full Specification

HULL NUMBER                     Oyster 825/01.



Laid-up GRP, single skin with structural stringers and floors to Lloyds approved design specification. Outer hull laminate in Vinylester resin. This hull has been structurally upgraded and has epoxy laminated keel floors with E glass and carbon unidirectional reinforcements.


HULL FINISH                     

Awlcraft 2000 ‘Flag Blue’ hull with twin bootop stripes and cove line in Awlcraft 2000 Medium Silver. Additional post curing to resin manufacturer’s specification, applied Awlcraft paint and lacquer.



Moulded in white GRP with PVC foam cored structure for strength and insulation. In load bearing areas, core is replaced with plywood for additional strength and all load bearing fittings have backing plates.


DECK FINISH                     

Teak laid decks, rolled edged bulwark with clean GRP finish.   Weather deck, cockpit seats and sole areas are finished with quarter-sawn teak planking with no visible fastenings. Stanchions and cleats mounted on the bulwark. Scupper drains installed along deck edge preventing staining during wash-downs.



High performance bulb design (HPB) - Standard draft keel.



Twin rudders with substantial GRP foam-filled blades that are bonded to composite rudder stocks.


STERN DESIGN                   

The stern has a hydraulically operated transom arrangement with moulded steps from deck and teak treads. LED step lighting and access to storage bin.



At over 24m length overall the Oyster 825 falls outside the scope of the EURCD, however the hull design and structure for this vessel have been designed using the Det Norske Veritas (DNV) – High Speed and Light Craft Rule.

ENGINE ROOM                   

Main access door to the engine room is via a door from the galley area forward of the saloon. The engine room is built of sound insulating plywood, mineral wool and the surfaces are faced with white painted sound absorbing Aluminium panels. All access panels are fitted with rubber sealing strips to minimize noise and ar secured by positive catches. 220V and 24V lighting and extractor fans ducted to the exterior. Heavy-duty air intake system provides a constant through-flow of air. An automatic and manual fire extinguisher is fitted to MCA standard with remote indicator light through Skyship’s system.



Access to the saloon from the cockpit is via a Falcon sliding, smoked glazed access system, teak steps and oval stainless steel handrails. White fibre optic lighting is incorporated into the steps. The Deck saloon is extremely light and airy with nine windows, two of which are opening. There are also six vertical non-opening hullports, three each side with bookcase rails in each recess. These hullports contribute to the great feeling of light and space with a Seascape vista whilst at anchor. A full length saloon table to port is fixed size with a drawer and locker underneath and comfortably seats eight using 2 foldup chairs. The main table top and port table top both have marquetry inlay design. Seating in the saloon is upholstered in JMT leather.

A smoked Perspex-fronted, auto-lit drinks locker with a mirror finish with stowage for bottles and glasses. Worktop in Avonite. Colour: Palermo satin with upstands. Top access Frigoboat wine box fridge with drawer underneath.   Extra locker inboard of starboard saloon seat with stowage for 6 x 1 l spirit bottles and for the Oyster highball glasses. Miele coffee machine is fitted forward of starboard seating.

To starboard is further seating and entertainments area with a hideaway TV in the seatback. Two games boards lift out from the centre of the entertainment table for playing chess, chequers and backgammon. One board has marquetry design on one side to match the table top. The swivel chart table chair is used for this entertainments area as well.

WET LOCKER                      
Located aft of saloon in companionway. Locker over wet locker for handheld VHFs and PLBs. Shallow locker accessed from top for iPads etc.. above VHF locker.


NAVIGATION AREA             

Aft facing navigation table on starboard side of companionway with provision for the stowage of Admiralty size, half-folded charts. 2 x Neovo 22” built in screens linked to navigation software. Ample stowage for Almanacs, navigational books etc… The comfortable chart table chair can swivel and doubles up as an extra chair for the entertainment area forward. Instrument panels are backlit and the instruments are hidden by a tambour door.



Located forward of the master cabin, there are two luxurious double cabins one to port and one to starboard. Both cabins are en-suite and contain an ample double berth, hanging locker, and TVs fitted to the aft face of the hanging locker. Each has a surface mounted, beveled edged mirror on the inside of the cabin door. There is a secret hole in berth-side locker for iPhone cable with a double 220V socket inside the locker.


EN SUITE HEAD/ SHOWER                    

In both port and starboard cabin heads: Heads worktop in Avonite. Colour - Casablanca Satin. Shower heads are recessed into headlining for extra standing room. Heads bulkhead finish is Beton Cire. The aft cabin boasts six vertical ‘Seascape’ windows, three on each side, allowing for a light filled cabin. It is configured with a double berth offset from the centerline, a settee, a desk/dressing table and a dress-length hanging locker, with abundant drawer and locker space. A full-length mirror is fitted on the back of the cabin door. There is access to the ensuite aft toilet and stall shower located forward to port. TheTV is fitted into the bulkhead. An emergency access ladder is provided for the two overhead hatches. Secret hole in berth-side locker for iPhone cable. Double 220V socket inside locker.

HOT WATER                       

From two insulated approximately 93 litres (20 imp/xx us gallons) tanks heated by the engine’s heat exchanger, or by thermostatically-controlled 220v, xxkw immersion heater elements powered by the generator or dockside power. One tank serves forward areas, the other serves the aft areas.



Supplied by two high capacity water pumps with PEX/PBT pipework and fittings.


BLACK WATER  HOLDING TANKS                   

2 x central GRP ‘black water’ holding tanks for all 5 WCs. Each tank is configured for discharge below water or pump out. Wema gauges.


GREY WATER                      

Five grey water ‘sump’ tanks, each fitted with a float switch and Whale Gulper pump giving automatic evacuation of all showers and washbasins. The galley sinks pump directly overboard via a Whale Gulper pump activated by a Vimar rocker switch. Shared automatic discharge tank for the washing machine and optional dishwasher.



Two bronze manifolds for seawater inlets to reduce through-hull fittings. One manifold dedicated to engine and generator, the other is for refrigeration air-con and other equipment.

All seacocks are dezincification resistant copper alloy quarter-turn ball valves with stainless steel handles. Water strainers are Aquafax heavy duty 50mm chromed bronze.
