Manufacturer Provided Description

The design of a potential successor to the outstanding Oyster 45, which in turn replaced the hugely successful Oyster 435, wsa always going to present a big challenge to Rob Humphreys and the Oyster Design Team. After months of working on a prototype, optimisation through advanced three-dimensional modeling techniques and the use of advanced design and visualisation tools, the Oyster Design team felt they would be able to acheive their target. A significantly faster, more stable hull form was created , allowing voluminous accommodation layout, spacious load carrying topped wit ha sleeker deck and superstructure - the new Oyster 46 was born.

Large Lewmar deck hatch with OceanAir sky screen for ventilation; blinds and curtains for privacy. Twin 110v outlets between berths.

Twin Cabin to Port:

Twin-bunk berths, both in Oyster “Off-white”, with storage beneath. Lee cloths. Hanging locker. Hella fan. Lewmar hatch with OceanAir sky screen, blinds and curtains.

Guest Head to Starboard:

PAR Quiet-flush electric toilet linked to both fresh and saltwater. Vanity with Avonite countertop in “Sandpiper”. Mirror, shelving and storage. Ensuite shower.

Main Salon:

Large and comfortable modified L- settee to port with maple dining table with custom compass inlay and black ebony surround that folds across the saloon to accommodate dining for six or seven. Table has handle inboard for moving forward through salon. Bottle stowage locker below table.

All settee bottoms and backs are removable to access storage areas and systems. Upholstery in Alcantara “Infanta Blue”. To starboard is a large base cabinet locker with trotter box, forward of the settee. Bar locker with glass storage outboard and above. Overhead handrail.

Air conditioning is 16,000 BTU, twin outlet. Hella fan to port. Trademark Oyster forward opening salon windows and with OceanAir sky screens, blinds. White fabric curtains for salon hull ports. Flat screen TV slides out of locker, starboard side.

Nav Station:

Forward-facing chart table with opening top, Hella fan above. Instruments are mounted in removable panels. E120 is flush-mounted. Double 12v and 110v electrical sockets above chart table on front panel. Electrical distribution panel for DC and AC loads on bulkhead behind nav station. Bookshelf outboard and above. Top-opening “glove box” outboard. Wet locker inboard of nav area and behind companionway; heated by engine.

Galley:

Walk-through galley to port, with Force 10 4-burner propane stovetop and oven. Whirlpool microwave. Large under-mounted stainless steel sink. Frigomatic under-counter, 60-liter insulated freezer, which can be run as secondary refrigerator. Frigomatic “stand-up” front-opening refrigerator in all stainless. (2) Large storage shelves. Countertops in Avonite “Blue Pearl”, gloss finish. Hella fan. Opening Gebo port, with screen, to cockpit, opening Lewmar hullport outboard of stove. Large pantry locker inboard with (4) shelves.

Owners Cabin:

Island berth with drawer storage underneath. Berth material in Oyster “Off-white”. Seat and berth headboard upholstered in Alcantara to match salon. Hanging locker, cabinets and desk/vanity table. Air conditioning is 10,000 BTU. (2) Hella fans. Opening hullport windows with screens. Large Lewmar overhead hatch with solar-powered vent.

Ensuite head:

PAR Quiet-flush electric toilet linked to both fresh and saltwater. Shower stall. Vanity with Avonite countertop in “Sandpiper”. Mirror, shelving and storage.
