The Honey Bee 28 was conceived as part of a yacht design competition held by the Glasgow Evening Standard, apparently influenced by some of Kim Holmans designs. A solid cruising yacht with a comfortable cockpit, full length berths and full standing headroom. Recent major refit with new engine, rigging, sails, systems and upholstery, she is a well equipped yacht in tidy condition and ready to go cruising. Mahogany on oak construction with a laid teak over ply deck. Sole 2cyl diesel new in 2011.

Honey Bee 28 for Sale, designed by A.K. Balfour for a competition run by the Glasgow Evening Herald to come up with a cruiser/racer for the Scottish West Coast. The Honey Bee came second in the competition but proved popular with about 60 being built between 1958 and 1972.
This Honey Bee 28 “Blizzard” was bought by the current owner in 2010 who spent two years restoring her ready for the 2012 season, refit included new rigging and engine.
Carvel Planked Mahogany on steamed oak frames. Teak on Ply deck with teak coach roof coamings and sheathed teak coach roof deck.
Long Keel, external Iron Ballast Keel, with stainless steel keel boats, drawn and checked in 2005.
Cutter rigged with Plastimo roller furling headsails, slab reefed main. Stainless Steel Standing Rigging fully replaced 2011.

4 Berths with 2 berths in the Saloon and 2 berths in the forward cabin.
V berth forward with storage lockers beneath, moving aft to starboard is the head with sea toilet, opposite to port is a hanging locker. Further aft there are settee berths on either side of the saloon. Foldable Nav table on port side. Split galley with s/s sink with pressurised cold water tap. Opposite is 2 burner gimballed gas hob. Companionway steps between up to the sociable cockpit.
All new Upholstery in the master and forward cabin.
