Built as a genltemans sailing yacht in 1896, her distinctive clipper type bow is indicative of yacht design from that era. In present ownership since 1972, she has had much work done including a new deck and rebuilt bottom end with all new bronze centreline bolts and fastenings. Now rigged as a gaff ketch on solid pole masts with a Mercedes 4cyl diesel engine. 4 berths in spacious interior with wood burning stove and separate heads. An attractive and interesting yacht, currently afloat and in commission.

Built by W. Watkins of Blackwall, London, and launched in 1896 to Lloyds 100A1+ at Lloyds.
Originally launched as a sloop with a centreboard, she was modified at Moodys before WWII to her current ketch rig arrangement.
In present ownership since 1972, she has been maintained as necessary with a new mast in 2005, and a new deck structure. In 2007 she had a thorough refit with some new planking, centreline bolts and rigging.
4 good berths with masses of headroom making her accommodation feel spacious and comfortable.
Boats of this vintage and design are harder to find these days, and she stands out as a fine looking yacht. A 2012 survey was very complimentary and it is only the owner’s old age which has forced the sale of the boat.

Planked in teak and pitch pine, copper fastened to sawn oak frames with steamed intermediate timbers.
Garboard and next plank up replaced with Iroko in 2007.
Centreline structure of oak with bronze through bolts, all new in 2007.
External ballast keel. Bronze keel bolts, all new in 2007.
Grown oak floors and new galvanised straps, fitted in 2007.
New deck in 1987, straight laid Iroko with payed seams epoxy glued to a marine plywood sub deck. Deck beams and carlins all replaced at the same time with oak.

Non self draining cockpit, recently rebuild with a new sole.
Wheel steering with a worm drive to a copper sheathed wooden rudder.
Gaff ketch rig on keel stepped varnished wooden masts.
Varnished wooden booms, gaffs and bowsprit.
Galvanised standing rigging to external galvanised chain plates on the main mast. Stainless steel rigging on the mizzen. Rigging reportedly replaced in 2007.
Hanked on staysail and jib.
Sail wardrobe comprises of Main, topsail, mizzen, 2 x staysails, genoa and mizzen staysail. Most sails are in good condition.
4cyl Mercedes diesel installed on an angle with a wing propeller on the starboard side.
16″ fixed 3 blade bronze propeller with a stainless shaft and flexible coupling.

Copper water tank under port settee berth
2 x 12 volt batteries for engine starting and domestics, charged from the engine alternator or through a 240 volt charger when on shore power.
4 berths in total including 2 saloon settee berths and two singles in the fore peak.
Steps down into the main cabin with over 6’4″ headroom.
Galley to port with a single stainless sink, manually pumped fresh water and a 2 burner Plastimo stove.
Chart desk to starboard with storage underneath.
Full length saloon settee berths either side with a centreline dropleaf table and a wood burning stove forward to starboard.
Passageway to port going forward into the forepeak with a heads compartment to starboard.
Jabsco manual sea toilet discharges directly overboard.
Large forepeak with a fixed single berth to starboard and a fold down one to port which allows easy access into the forepeak when berth is up.
