Some excellent news has reached us from the organisers of the Crick Boat Show. Apparently, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Marston’s Pedigree, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the launch of the 13th Crick event, Marston’s Brewery will be sending its famous Marston’s Pedigree beer in traditional wooden barrels by canal from its Burton HQ to the show.

Crick Boat Show 2011The beer will be carried by British Waterways’ 71-foot heritage working boat ‘Swift’. The beer will make the historic 74-mile voyage along the Trent & Mersey, Coventry, North Oxford and Grand Union canals, before arriving at Crick on the Leicester Line of the Grand Union Canal on Monday May 28. ‘Swift’ and her cargo will then go on display at the show along with other historic boats, Aldgate and Sagitta. If you want to get a close-up look at the fully restored boat, you can book your tickets online at Crick Boat Show, or by calling 01283 742972.
